Please remember to submit your power point presentations by Sunday night. I need to make sure they are ready for the Monday morning presentations. If you are thinking of not attending Monday morning, please understand that if your group is chosen to present, you will receive ZERO for the presentation mark.
I will also be giving another provincial poetry quiz at the start of class. If you are late, you receive zero for that. Have a nice weekend.

Please give your Works Cited page to Ms. North, and collect it back from her to give to Ms. McKinnon. She will record the marks.
I will be marking essays starting this weekend, with the goal to have them all done by Wednesday, the day before my surgery. Otherwise I will be marking under the influence of heavy pain-killers, which could go either way for you. Later kids. Today is the final day for class time work for your essay. Your final draft must be e-mailed to me by 11:59pm Thanksgiving Monday.
Please send an e-mail with your essay attached to mcguiremarks@gmail.com. Please print off your Works Cited page and submit that to Ms North in the library. She will assess your efforts, and send the mark to me. You must complete a peer-editing sheet and submit that before the end of class. It's worth a few marks if you make an actual effort to help your classmates. Thanks. Please read this before you submit your essay. Please Mike Holmes this stuff! ![]()
Today I wrote some instructions on the board. They were in ORANGE, so they were hard to read and photograph.
They said:
Today was your day to write; Thursday is your day to peer edit, polish, and submit your essay. Remember that you must have a works cited page, and it must be shown to Ms North. It's worth 10 marks. I might set up One Note Notebooks for you, and allow you to submit your finished essay to them. I will let you know Thursday how we will be submitting. Onwards. Today you are work-shopping your thesis statements. Or, if you haven't done the work, writing your thesis statements. Or, if you're really far behind, thinking of a topic...
Next week is crunch time, as you must write and workshop your complete essay over two classes. I am gone October 6th, which means I need your essays e-mailed to me by then. You need to be fully prepared to write your essay on Tuesday. Today you were in A232 doing "research" on your chosen topic. You were given an outline sheet that must be filled out and submitted for marks.
You need to have a topic and thesis statement so that we can workshop them on Wednesday. You will have Tuesday and Thursday of next week in the lab to type and edit your essays, which will be officially due October 6th (Friday) at 11:59pm (you will be submitting via e-mail; please don't come to me house late on the Friday night, as my wife is a black belt and she will kick your butt). If you are struggling with an idea, e-mail me at mcguiremarks@gmail.com before Wednesday, and I will do my best to help you. Mazeltov. |
