BLOCK 1-1 PUT THE BOOKS BACK AT THE FRONT WHEN YOU LEAVE. PLEASE.
FYI- The Evil Project book reading sheet that Ms. North is to be submitted to her by Wednesday, January 31st if you want the 30 marks attached to it. You have been told. It's Thursday, October 5th, and your memoirs are due "ish" today.
(I say "ish" because technically you can get it to me over the long weekend without penalty) You need to complete a memoir checklist, and you need to complete an editing sheet for another classmate's memoir, and both sheets must be submitted before you leave class this morning. Marks are attached to these. When you are certain that your memoir is perfection, attach the word file to an e-mail and submit to mcguiremarks@gmail.com. Your narrative poems are due Monday, September 25th. They must be handwritten and illustrated, both to the best of your abilities.
Don't overthink the poem- it's a narrative, so tell your story in an interesting and provocative manner. Remember, the minimum is 12 lines. And the illustration and poem should be on the same page. Most importantly- have fun doing it. I have removed the pressure of marks, so just do your best and submit. Hey Elevens, we will beginning a unit on the personal narrative that will be focussed on a memoir. For those of you who don't know, a memoir is not the story of your life, but it's a story from your life. You will be asked to write two memoirs- one will be a short, narrative poem, the other will be a actual short story that will recount a moment from your life. It will be a process. Your hands will be (metaphorically) held. Enjoy |
